Finish what you start, Peter Hollins book summary and lessons
Summary:
The writer
has started with an example that is a story of a person. Its name is Aryan.
Aryan is a private company worker. He works the whole day for his boss with
hardworking. But he is not happy with that job due to our work and the boss’s
attitude. So, he wants to open a bakery shop and want to become a self-boss. So,
he thinks in his free time about that bakery shop and makes plans for how he
can open his shop. But he can’t act on his plans due to procrastination and
distractions. So, at last, Aryan has not opened his shop and always does work
in that company and always does regret not opening his shop. Most of us people
are the same as Aryan.
The writer
has also written the reasons and solutions for not completing the work.
The first
reason Aryan did not complete his desired work was due to his incomplete focus.
He has not focused on that task. He gives more priority to his family, friends,
and work. So, if you want to do something build your focus on that task then
make the plan realistic and work on that. You will do that work in this way.
The second
reason is procrastination. We can solve this by using the 10.10.10 rule. The rule
10.10.10 is this you think what you will think after 10 minutes, 10 hours, and
10 days if you have not completed this task now.
The third
reason is distractions. We can solve this by removing our distractions like our
major distraction is mobile in doing work. So, we should put our mobile far
away before starting work and after completing our work use it and reward ourselves
after completing that task.
The fourth
and main is overthinking. Overthinking is a major problem for most of us people.
We overthink different things. We can remove this overthinking by using focus
and the present mind.
So, these
are all the reasons and their solution for not completing any work. I hope this
helps you a lot in most of your work if you act upon it.
